Us
The members of the Shop Agents Society are practicing shop agents from
commercial property practices all over the UK. They are involved on a
day to day basis with lettings, sales, acquisitions, valuations, rent
reviews and lease renewals of properties in High Streets and Shopping
Centres all over the country and offer a great depth of experience and
knowledge about shop property in all its facets. The society was formed
to provide the opportunity for those members to share information and
to meet to make useful contacts and we hope friends on a regular basis
for social, educational or business purposes and to generally to promote
the business of shop agency throughout the UK.
Constitution
Shop Agents Society
- The Shop Agents Society represents the interests of the membership
in connection with the activities of the high-street, edge and out of
town retail markets.
- Membership is open to all those whose principal business is the professional,
agency, development and investment fields of the retail market.
- The objects of the Shop Agents Society are to:
a. Facilitate social contact between members
b. Further the educational needs of the membership
c. Represents the membership in matters of professional and national
interest
- The Shop Agents Society shall be run by a Committee who shall be
principally elected by membership ballot.
- The principal officers of the Committee shall be Chairman, Treasurer,
Secretary, Membership Secretary, Social Secretary, Sponsorship Officer,
Sports Officer and Events Co-ordinator.
- 6. Each member of the Committee shall continue in office for a period
of four years, after which he or she may offer themselves for re-election..
- The office of Chairman shall continue for one year.
- The Shop Agents Society is a non-profit making organisation.
- The Committee shall employ external accountants and auditors who shall
act on behalf of the Society in all financial matters.
- The committee shall conduct the affairs of the Shop Agents Society
on behalf of the Membership. Any monies raised by activities shall be
used for the funding of membership events or donated to appropriate
charitable causes at the Committee’s discretion.
- The Shop Agents Society shall maintain a VAT-registered status.
